Property Prep Checklist

Clear debris from exterior attic vents and install 1/8 inch metal mesh screen barriers on all vents.

Clear leaves and twigs from gutters and roofs.

Store firewood and flammable materials at least 30 ft away from your home.

Ensure house numbers are clearly visible from the road for emergency services.

Repair or replace any loose or missing shingles or roof tiles to prevent ember penetration.

Screen or box in areas below patios and decks with wire mesh to prevent debris and flammable material from accumulating.

Remove anything stored underneath decks or porches.

Move any flammable material away from wall exteriors – mulch, flammable plants, leaves and needles, firewood, anything that can burn.
